I highly recommend Grace Dog, especially for rescues and/or reactive dogs. Ana is the first dog trainer I’ve worked with. I talked to a few of the most recommended dog trainers in Denver and decided to work with Ana because her approach was so compassionate and much more personalized than the others. My 4 year old rescue dog, Lucy, struggles with dog reactivity and anxiety. I’ve been working with Ana for a couple months now and have already seen Lucy make progress in these areas. It’s not just simple obedience training - Ana is really helping me connect with Lucy and make her feel safe and confident. She’s always able and willing to give me advice about anything. Very easy to communicate with. Her trainings are designed to make a lasting, life long impact. She truly acts as a partner and valued resource in my dog training journey.

Ana is fantastic! Truth be told, I was desperate when I called her, utterly afraid I had made a terrible mistake getting a puppy. But after the first meeting, the very next day, that all changed. My daughter was shocked at how much my attitude towards the puppy changed so quickly. Not only did she give us the tools we needed to train or puppy but also the confidence that we could do it! She can help you to train your dog to do what works for your family. It’s still amazed me how much we learn each session. Ana is kind, knowledgeable, patient, and a true lover of all animals!

From our first day working with Ana in home, she made us feel confident and capable in our abilities to see results. She empowered us with understanding for our dogs actions and armed us with the knowledge to address their needs. In our home she creates an environment that is fun, engaging and comfortable for us all. The dogs respond so well to her direction and love to see her coming. Ana has given us the tools to build the atmosphere to protect our dogs in the best ways possible, empower our kids to maintain control over our dogs and to ensure encourage positive behaviors in our dogs. Walks are more enjoyable for us and the dogs, when the doorbell rings it's way less chaotic and have game planned with great results and the anxiety the dogs would get in certain situations have greatly diminished. We look forward to continuing our work with Ana. She is so knowledgeable on all things dogs and a great joy to be around; don't wait to start your journey with her!

We adopted a rescue that became highly reactive to other (unknown) dogs and we were at a loss of what to do. Through a friend we found Ana and we've never been more grateful. Our sweet boy has come a long way in large part due to Ana. She is extremely knowledgeable, observant, respectful, and a highly qualified subject matter expert. Do your pup and yourself a favor, call Ana ASAP.

Ana Melara of Grace Dog Training knows dogs better than anyone I know. I had a leash-aggressive dog and she helped so he could go out into the world more confidently and less reactive. And that certainly made my life easier. Ana thinks of so many things that I never thought of when training a dog. And my pups love her Gracie's Freezies! Highly recommended!

Ana is a dream of a trainer. She has taught us how to build trust with our dog and use gentle positive reinforcement to help shape her behavior. We started with an anxious two-year-old rescue husky mix and now we have a happy, well-behaved member of the family who can come along with us on any adventure.

Teaching old dogs new ways. I am 57 years old and have for the past 14 years been navigating the residual effects of MS. Four months ago we got a puppy with the plan of training him to be a service dog for me. Bear is learning to be a brace and balance support as well as a retriever of items I drop. Looking at our 8 week old ball of fluff, I was overwhelmed with the thought of how to start training that would accomplish the goals I have for Bear. A referral led me to call Ana and I will forever be grateful for that referral. Ana has been the perfect trainer for Bear and I. The first thing you see from her is that she loves dogs and if Bear is any indication, dogs love her. She is quick to praise, you will hear often “that’s what I am talking about!” She is very analytical in her work. In our sessions she will often talk about the information we are gaining from the different experiences we are presenting to Bear and then will be guided toward adjustments related to that information. Ana is also able to hold both the young dog, Bear and the old dog, me accountable. In her sometimes thick New York accent she will tell me when my actions are creating issues for Bear and what I need to do differently. Never harsh, but always direct, Ana’s comments are spot on. When you sign on with Ana, you get so much more than the face to face session time. Logistically, Ana has established spectacular communication structures, whether reaching out to her assistant or directly texting Ana, my questions are always addressed quickly. Additionally, Ana wants videos from those she is helping and uses those videos between sessions to help adjust training. Bear and I have a long ways to go to perfect his service work, three months into this work, I can tell you with all confidence that with Ana’s help we will get to where we are trying to go. You will be very pleased if you choose to work with Ana Melara and Grace Og Training and Behavior.
